Kept to a data sheet
Every building on this site is entered the same way: a name, an address line, six fields of data and one short paragraph. Nothing is argued and nothing is recommended. If a source does not carry a fact, the field reads not confirmed and stays that way.
The fields differ from one part of the site to the next, because a snow building and a capsule floor are not answerable to the same questions. Each part explains its own six headings, and the Method page explains where the readings come from.

Method
Entries are drawn from operator pages and public reference material, read in the month shown in the last field. Where two sources disagree, neither is used. Where a chain does not list a branch, another working address of the same chain takes its place and the swap is stated.
Winter buildings are checked against the current cold season before anything is written about them. No dates are promised here, because they move with the weather and with the operator. The full account of the six headings, and of what this site leaves out, is on the Method page.
This site is independent and for reference. Readings are taken from open sources and can change without notice. Winter buildings stand only in the cold months and are put up again from nothing each year. The site is tied to no hotel, sells nothing and holds no reservations; confirm everything with the house itself.
